SEQUENCE VIEWER, DATABASES AND AN AUTOMATIC ANNOTATION TOOLS

Thiotemplate modular systems continue to play an important role in the discovery of compounds with novel bioactivity by isolating novelties. The understanding and engineering of biosynthesis of complex natural products are important directions in natural products research.

From DNA sequences to compunds, ClustScan and CompGen are software's that allows visualization of biochemical pathways from the automatic analyses of genome data. Results can be compared for novelty to a free and extensively curated database: CSDB (ClusScan DataBase). To see ClustScan and CompGen in action, go to the tutorial video.

ClustScan and CompGen have been developed and are maintained by the Section for Bioinformatics, Department of Biochemical Engineering, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb (http://www.pbf.hr/bioinformatics/), in collaboration with Novalis d.o.o., Zagreb, Croatia (http://www.novalis.hr/contact.htm).
